And just like that, three more HGTV shows are gone.

If you saw our blog post a couple of weeks ago (here’s the link), you know that HGTV shocked fans by canceling four big-name shows in one week. Now, they’re back at it—this time pulling the plug on three more veteran series:

  • Christina on the Coast (Christina Haack)

  • The Flipping El Moussas' (Tarek & Heather El Moussa)

  • Battle on the Beach (Ty Pennington & Taniya Nayak)

These are some of the faces of HGTV. So what gives?

Is HGTV Cleaning House?

Something’s shifting at the network. Whether it’s falling ratings, changing viewer habits, budget decisions, or just a new direction for the brand, it’s obvious they’re rethinking their lineup in a big way.

You don’t cancel this many recognizable names unless you’re trying to make a statement or turn the ship around.

What It Means for Brands and Product Placement

Here’s why this matters beyond just what’s on TV: HGTV is a major platform for product placement in the home and design world. Getting your product featured in a renovation scene—or as part of a designer’s go-to look—has been a visibility win for years.

But with so many shows getting canceled:

  • You might only get one season (or a few episodes) of exposure

  • That long-term brand visibility? Not guaranteed anymore

  • You need to move fast, stay flexible, and build solid relationships with talent and producers

It’s a more unpredictable environment, which means brands have to be more strategic than ever.

So, What Shows Are Still Standing?

It’s not all bad news. Plenty of HGTV favorites are still going strong, and a few new series are getting ready to launch. Here's what's staying:

Returning Shows:

  • The Flip Off (Christina & Tarek—head-to-head competitors)

  • Zillow Gone Wild (hosted by Jack McBrayer)

  • Celebrity IOU (the Scott Brothers)

  • My Lottery Dream Home (David Bromstad)

  • Renovation Resort Shutdown (Scott McGillivray & Bryan Baeumler)

  • Beachfront Bargain Hunt

  • Down Home Fab (Chelsea & Cole DeBoer)

  • Holmes Family Rescue (Mike Holmes and family)

  • Rock the Block (still hosted by Ty Pennington)

New Shows Coming Soon:

  • Junk or Jackpot (Bobby Berk)

  • Chasing the West (Scott Brothers again—yes, they’re everywhere)

Bottom Line

HGTV is in the middle of a major transition. That doesn’t mean the design space is dying—it just means the rules are changing. For brands, product placement still matters—but you’ve got to be nimble. Keep your eyes on up-and-coming talent, stay close with your production contacts, and be ready to pivot when shows shift or disappear. And don’t worry—we’ll keep watching what happens next.
